The prompt
Create a 3D CAD model of a riblet-modified axial exhaust fan for the thesis “Effects of Riblet Geometry on the Particle Deposition in Axial Fan Blades.” This model will be compared with a standard smooth fan in ANSYS Fluent. Fan dimensions: Outer diameter: 100 mm Number of blades: 5, evenly spaced at 72° Hub diameter: 30 mm Hub height: 15 mm Blade radial span: 35 mm Shaft bore: 8 mm Maximum blade thickness: approximately 2 mm Blade chord: 28 mm at the root, tapering to 20 mm at the tip Blade setting angle: approximately 40° at the root and 25° at the tip, measured relative to the plane of rotation Use smooth, slightly cambered, tapered, and twisted blades. Riblet design: Add V-shaped longitudinal riblets to the suction side of all five blades. Riblet height: 0.10 mm. Riblet pitch: 0.50 mm center-to-center. Align riblets with the local airflow direction as closely as possible. Follow the blade curvature and stop the riblets before the blade edges and hub junction. Make the riblets actual 3D grooves and ridges, not visual textures. Important requirements: Keep the fan dimensions and blade geometry identical to the smooth baseline model. Only add riblets. Create a clean, watertight solid without gaps or self-intersections, suitable for ANSYS Fluent meshing. Export as STEP (.step/.stp), preferably, or STL. Provide the final dimensions and confirm the riblet measurements. Do not include the motor, casing, or surrounding fluid domain. If the full riblet pattern cannot be generated, report the limitation rather than changing the specified dimensions.
