Add an API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, DeepSeek, OpenRouter or others and the full TextoCAD pipeline runs on it, with no limit from us. You pay the provider directly, usually cents per part.

Add TextoCAD as a connector. Your assistant writes the CAD script and TextoCAD builds the real model - free, inside the chat you already use.

How your key is protected
Encrypted at rest
Each key is sealed with AES-256-GCM under its own data key, wrapped by a master key that never touches the database.
Never shown again
After you save it, only the last four characters are ever displayed. No page or API returns the key.
Checked before saving
The key is tested with one free read-only call to the provider, so only a working key is stored.
Yours to delete
Delete it any time and it is erased, not hidden. Or choose to have it deleted automatically when you sign out.
Only for your generations
The key is decrypted only inside your own generation and never used for anyone else's, or for anything else.
Never logged
Keys are stripped from logs and error messages. Even TextoCAD staff see only the provider and last four characters.
MCP connector
Use TextoCAD inside Claude or ChatGPT
Your assistant writes the CadQuery script, TextoCAD validates it, builds it in a sandboxed CAD kernel, and hands back STEP, STL and GLB links. Change a dimension and it rebuilds in seconds.

Claude (claude.ai and the desktop app)
- Open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it TextoCAD and paste the connector URL.
- Click Connect and sign in to TextoCAD when asked.
- In a chat, enable TextoCAD from the tools menu and describe the part you need.
ChatGPT
- Open Settings, then Apps & Connectors, and turn on Developer mode under Advanced.
- Create a connector, paste the connector URL and choose OAuth.
- Sign in to TextoCAD when asked, then pick TextoCAD in a new chat.
Claude Code
- Run this once, then type /mcp in Claude Code to sign in.

Is TextoCAD free?
Yes. You get 2 free generations after signing in. After that you keep generating with your own API key or through the Claude / ChatGPT connector. There are no subscriptions.
Which API keys work?
Keys from OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Google Gemini, xAI (Grok), DeepSeek, OpenRouter, Mistral, Groq, Together and Fireworks. Paste the key and we recognise the provider and pick a strong model it can use - you can change the model afterwards. OpenRouter alone reaches hundreds of models from every major lab. Generations on your key never use your free generations.
Should I keep my key or delete it on sign-out?
Keeping it means it works on every device and through the connector. Deleting on sign-out limits it to the browser session that saved it. Either way it is encrypted, and a dedicated key with a spending limit at the provider is the safest choice.
What does the connector cost?
Building a script your assistant wrote is free. If you ask the connector to use TextoCAD's own generation pipeline instead, that runs on your saved key or your free generations.
Which assistants support the connector?
Any client that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in, including Claude, ChatGPT in developer mode and Claude Code. Each person signs in with their own TextoCAD account.
I subscribed before. What happens now?
Your remaining generations stay on your account. You can cancel the subscription from your Usage page; nothing new is charged once it is cancelled.
