Treat the STL as the master reference. Requirements: • Convert the mesh into solid CAD geometry. • Detect all planar surfaces. • Detect cylinders and circular holes. • Detect straight edges and sharp transitions. • Preserve every notch, shoulder, and recess exactly. • Maintain all dimensions within ±0.005 inch where possible. • Repair any mesh errors before conversion. • Remove duplicate vertices and non-manifold edges. • Create watertight solid bodies. • Merge coplanar faces. • Convert triangles into analytic CAD faces whenever possible. • Preserve all symmetry only where it already exists. • Do NOT mirror, reinterpret, or modify features. Output: • Editable parametric solid • Feature tree if supported • STEP (.stp) • IGES (.igs) • Native CAD format • STL regenerated from the CAD body for comparison Goal: The finished CAD model must overlay the original STL with virtually no visible deviation.
