The prompt

Create a parametric 3D CAD model of a passive aerodynamic airflow duct system for an electric vehicle. Purpose: The system captures a portion of the frontal airflow and redirects it toward the left and right front edges of the vehicle to study its effect on aerodynamic drag using CFD. Design requirements: 1. Main intake: - Rectangular frontal intake. - Width = 1000 mm. - Height = 300 mm. - Total inlet area = 0.30 m². - The intake should face directly into the incoming airflow. 2. Flow splitting: - Split the incoming airflow equally into two separate ducts. - Left duct inlet area = 0.15 m². - Right duct inlet area = 0.15 m². - The two ducts must be geometrically symmetric. 3. Duct geometry: - Use smooth, continuous internal surfaces. - The duct gradually contracts from the inlet toward each outlet. - Use a smooth parabolic/curved contraction rather than a sudden reduction. - Approximate duct depth = 150–200 mm. - Avoid sharp internal corners to reduce flow separation. 4. Guide vanes: - One curved guide vane inside each duct. - Total = 2 guide vanes. - Each vane turns the airflow approximately 45 degrees toward its respective vehicle side. - Left vane redirects flow toward the left front edge. - Right vane redirects flow toward the right front edge. - Use smooth curved vane surfaces. 5. Outlets: - One outlet on the left side and one on the right side. - Outlet area = 0.10 m² per side. - The outlets should discharge airflow toward the corresponding left and right front edges of the vehicle. - Keep both outlet geometries symmetric. 6. CFD preparation: - Make the model watertight and suitable for CFD. - Use smooth solid/surface geometry. - Clearly define the inlet, outlet and internal duct surfaces. - Avoid unnecessary decorative details. - Include separate surfaces for the inlet, outlets, duct walls and guide vanes. 7. Coordinate/design orientation: - Vehicle forward direction = X direction. - Vehicle width = Y direction. - Vehicle vertical direction = Z direction. - Incoming airflow travels opposite to the vehicle's forward direction. - The duct should be positioned over the front body area just before the cabin. - Do NOT include or intersect the windshield. Create the model with editable dimensions and exportable engineering geometry suitable for STEP export and later CFD analysis.
