Using the existing rectangular base plate, add the core ankle mechanism. Add one vertical support exactly at the geometric center of the base. On top of this support, add a centered ball joint. Above the ball joint, add one rectangular mobile foot pedal centered directly over the ball joint, able to tilt in all directions. Add a simple front foot retainer on the pedal, like the front upper part of an open sandal or slipper, so a foot can slide underneath and stay secured.
