The prompt
Design a fully enclosed, automatic wet cat food feeder inspired by a Vertical Lift Module (VLM) used in warehouse automation. The feeder should be a vertical cabinet-style appliance that stores multiple individual portions of wet cat food internally. Explore a motorised vertical lift system that retrieves individual food portions from stacked storage compartments and transfers them to a feeding bowl. **Most important feature: Retractable floor-level feeding station.** The feeding bowl must sit on top of a motorised sliding shelf or platform at floor level. The platform should automatically extend out from the bottom of the cabinet when feeding time arrives, allowing the cat to eat comfortably. After feeding, it should retract completely inside the cabinet, concealing the bowl and all mechanical components. The entire machine must be cat-proof when closed, with no accessible food storage, motors, gears, wiring or moving mechanisms. Design for wet food, prioritising hygiene, removable food containers, easy cleaning and refrigerated storage. Develop a realistic mechanical 3D CAD model showing: - Vertical food storage and retrieval mechanism. - Internal motors, rails and moving components. - Retractable floor-level bowl platform (extended and retracted). - External cabinet enclosure. - Internal cutaway and exploded assembly views. You may propose a better mechanical mechanism than a VLM if it achieves the same functionality. Prioritise reliability, compactness, cat safety and ease of cleaning.
