The prompt
Create an editable parametric 3D CAD model of a trapezoidal sheet-metal enclosure for a homemade sim racing steering wheel base. Use millimeters for all dimensions. MAIN BODY: - Front width: 390 mm. - Rear width: 200 mm. - Front height: 100 mm. - Overall depth: 200 mm. - Material thickness: 2 mm. - Symmetrical trapezoidal footprint. - Flat bottom surface. - Flat or slightly inclined top surface. - Straight, tapered side walls connecting the wide front to the narrower rear. - Simple sheet-metal geometry with flat faces and small bend radii. Create a hollow housing with separate front, rear, top, bottom, left side and right side metal panels. The housing must be a realistic folded steel-sheet construction with straight bends, simple mounting flanges and a removable top cover. FRONT PANEL: Create a centered circular opening for an 8 mm diameter steering shaft. Add a separate circular mounting flange and a simple cylindrical reference shaft extending 60 mm outside the housing and 150 mm inside. REAR PANEL: Create a central ventilation grille area measuring 180 mm wide by 80 mm high, containing horizontal straight ventilation slots. Preserve sufficient material around the grille for fastening and bending the sheet metal. SIDE PANELS: Add three small horizontal ventilation slots near the rear of each side panel. BOTTOM: Add two simple removable desk mounting brackets underneath the base, with threaded tightening screws suitable for a desk thickness of 15–25 mm. MODEL REQUIREMENTS: Create solid CAD geometry rather than a visual mesh or a rendering. Keep the housing panels and mounting brackets as separate editable components whenever supported. Use precise dimensions and symmetrical geometry. Do not model a steering wheel rim, motor, encoder, pulleys, belts, bearings, electronics or other internal components. Avoid decorative features, organic curves and molded plastic shapes. The result must be a simple, manufacturable sheet-metal enclosure with an industrial appearance and editable CAD geometry. Generate the assembled 3D model, with STEP export compatibility if supported.
