The prompt
Create a single editable parametric 3D CAD model of the ORIGINAL railway ratchet compensation wheel body shown in the attached Qi et al. 2024 paper, “Topology optimization of a ratchet compensation structure subject to periodic constraints”, DOI 10.1016/j.hspr.2024.11.003. Reconstruct the ORIGINAL pre-topology-optimization geometry only. Do NOT create the optimized 3-, 4-, 5-, or 6-cycle designs. Model the complete structural wheel body with: • large outer wheel • smaller inner wheel • central hub and cylindrical shaft hole • original four-period spoke arrangement • rope grooves on the large and small wheels • rope-end wedge/clamp grooves • wheel flanges and structural fillets • smooth continuous load paths from the hub to the wheel rims Use the paper figures as the primary geometric reference and preserve their proportions and arrangement. Known reference data: • ZL114A aluminium alloy • density = 2700 kg/m³ • elastic modulus = 70 GPa • Poisson’s ratio = 0.33 • original FEA model mass ≈ 14.87 kg • large-wheel rope tension = 10 kN • small-wheel rope tension = 15 kN • rope diameter = 9.5 mm • transmission ratio = 1:3 The central hole must remain cylindrical and suitable for ANSYS shaft support. Preserve the rope-groove geometry because rope pressure and friction will later be applied there. Use the original geometry, NOT dimensions from the later optimized reconstructed models. Do not add the pawl, logos, decorative details, or unnecessary features. If a dimension is not visible or specified in the paper, infer it only from the paper geometry and maintain realistic proportions; do not invent unusual dimensions. Keep important uncertain dimensions editable. Make the final model clean, watertight, mechanically realistic, symmetric according to the original four-period design, and suitable for STEP export and ANSYS Workbench FEA. Do NOT perform topology optimization. Create only the original baseline CAD model.
