The prompt

Using this information: HID does not publish standalone dimensions for the 40-K-MP plate (ADI HU-40KMP). Public datasheets only cover the reader that sits on it. HID 40-K-MP is the black replacement mounting plate for the HID Signo 40 (not the 40K keypad — that uses 40KT-K-MP). What is published Signo 40 reader (the part that hooks onto the plate): InchesmmWidth3.15 in80 mmHeight4.78 in121.5 mmDepth0.77 in19.5 mm The plate is smaller than the reader so the reader bezel covers it completely. How it mounts Plate screws to the wall / box first. Reader hooks over the top of the plate. One #6-32 (0.138-32) × 0.375" screw at the bottom locks it (security/anti-tamper screw is an option). Plate is slotted so it can hit both: US single-gang box: 3.281 in (83.3 mm) vertical hole centers EU/Asian ~60 mm spacing Screws HID supplies for the plate-to-box: US: #6-32 × 0.375" flat-head Metric: M3.5 × 12 mm flat-head Direct-to-wall (no box): #6-20 × 1.5" self-tappers Practical dimensions for a 3D-printed mount Use these as a starting CAD target. Caliper the real plate if you have one — HID does not give a drawing. Plate-to-print interface (what you should model): Two mounting holes/slots on the vertical centerline Primary spacing: 83.3 mm (3.281") center-to-center Hole size: clearance for #6 (~3.6–4.0 mm) or M3.5 Better: vertical slots ~4 mm wide × 10–12 mm long so you can still hit US and 60 mm boxes Large wire pass-through in the middle (reader pigtail/terminal is centered) Keep your printed face ≤ ~76–78 mm wide × ~115–118 mm tall so the 80 × 121.5 mm reader covers the plate Plate itself is thin (a few mm) plus the top hook and bottom screw boss Reader-to-plate interface (if you ever skip the HID plate): Top: two hooks / lip that the reader hangs on Bottom: one #6-32 hole on centerline for the lock screw Tamper switch on the reader expects the plate to be present and seated Design notes for printing HID recommends a plastic spacer if the mount is metal — metal behind the reader kills read range. Print in PETG/ASA if this is outdoors or near a door. Leave a cavity behind the plate for the pigtail / terminal block. Do not assume 40-K-MP and 40KT-K-MP are interchangeable. Best path: if you already have the plate, caliper overall outline, slot length, hole centers, hook height, and bottom screw location. Those four numbers are enough to model a flush mount. If you only have the reader, start with the 83.3 mm / 60 mm slotted pattern and a face slightly smaller than 80 × 121.5 mm.
