SITE DIMENSIONS: Total fenced site: minimum 30m x 30m (square layout preferred) Around the fence: 10m wide external firebreak of bare soil on all sides BOUNDARY & FENCING: Perimeter fence: 1.8m high wire fence with steel posts, Y-standards, and steel droppers Wire strands spaced at 150mm intervals Include a double-leaf main gate (steel frame wire gate) for vehicle access ENTRANCE & ACCESS CONTROL: Main entrance gate centered on one side of the site Two-lane driveway (entry and exit lanes), compacted soil Install a boom gate across both lanes inside the entrance Adjacent to boom gate: small office/guard hut (6m x 3m wooden wendy house) Divided into 3 sections: Front patio facing driveway Office behind patio Larger rear section for tools/storage MAIN YARD (VEHICLE MOVEMENT AREA): Large open yard with compacted soil surface Minimum 20m distance between sorting slab and opposite fence Designed for turning and reversing of: Passenger vehicles Bakkies with trailers No obstructions in turning area SORTING AREA (PRIMARY FEATURE): Concrete slab: 15m x 5m, 150mm thick, flush with ground level Sloped at 2 degrees for drainage High side at Bay 3.1 Low side draining toward drainage pit (3.7) SORTING BAYS (on slab): Bays arranged in a row, open toward yard Each bay has: 3-sided brick wall (1m high, double wall) Open base gaps for drainage Bay dimensions: Bays 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.5, 3.6: 2m wide x 3m deep Bay 3.4 (processing bay): 5m wide x 3m deep Drainage pit (3.7): 1m x 5m trench, 1m deep Covered with removable steel grid FUNCTIONAL ZONING OF BAYS: Bay 3.1: clean building rubble Bay 3.2: dry acceptable waste Bay 3.3: firewood storage Bay 3.4: branch processing (chainsaw + woodchipper) Bay 3.5: woodchips Bay 3.6: grass, leaves, soft green waste EXCEPTIONAL WASTE AREA: Separate fenced enclosure inside main site Size: approx. 6m x 3m structure inside enclosure Building: Steel frame Corrugated metal sheeting Concrete floor Access controlled by locked steel gate Located away from main traffic flow WATER STORAGE: 2500L round water tank (1.4m diameter) Mounted on 1.5m x 1.5m concrete slab Positioned away from main traffic and not directly opposite sorting slab TRAFFIC FLOW: Vehicles enter through main gate Stop at boom gate for inspection Drive into yard Reverse into appropriate sorting bay Exit through same driveway SURFACES: Yard, entrance, driveway: compacted soil Sorting area: concrete slab Exceptional waste area: bare soil Firebreak: bare soil SAFETY & ACCESS CONTROL: Restricted access to: Processing bay (3.4) Exceptional waste area Clear separation between public and work zones STYLE: Clean engineering-style 2D site plan Top-down orthographic view Include labels for all zones and bays Include dimensions where possible
