The prompt
Design a REAL, FUNCTIONAL, FDM-printable portable folding stand for: MacBook Air 15” M4: 340.4 × 237.6 × 11.5 mm, 1.51 kg iPad Pro 13” M4: 281.6 × 215.5 × 5.1 mm, 579 g iPhone 17 Pro Max: 163.4 × 78 × 8.75 mm, 231 g The MacBook is ONLY a reference. The stand must be completely freestanding behind it. Neither iPad nor iPhone may touch or use the MacBook structurally. DEPLOYED LAYOUT: MacBook on desk → stand behind it → iPad supported above MacBook display → iPhone supported immediately RIGHT of MacBook display. The iPhone must NOT be above or behind the MacBook. CRITICAL: The iPhone holder needs independent HORIZONTAL and VERTICAL adjustment. Vertical adjustment aligns its TOP edge with the MacBook display TOP edge. Horizontal adjustment aligns its LEFT edge with the MacBook display RIGHT edge. Use simple rigid locking positions with captive pins or a locking rail. MECHANICAL DESIGN: Use a simple original folding architecture: * rigid base * foldable main support * iPad cradle * adjustable iPhone arm/holder * two fold-out side outriggers The main support folds down for transport and has a captive pivot, positive mechanical stop and tool-free locking pin. Both outriggers fold against the base and have captive pivots, positive deployed/folded stops and tool-free captive locking pins. Mechanical stops must carry structural loads; do not rely on friction. The iPad rests in a robust lower cradle and is completely independent of the MacBook. The iPhone arm must resist bending and torsion. The holder must securely retain the bare iPhone while allowing quick one-hand removal without blocking the display, buttons, USB-C port or cameras. The MacBook lid and hinge must have sufficient clearance and remain fully operable. FOLDING: All parts remain one captive assembly. No loose pins or screws. Target folded size: ≤300 W × 150 D × 60 mm thick. No tools required. FDM: Design specifically for PETG FDM printing. Use realistic wall thicknesses, clearances, reinforced pivot bosses and fillets. Avoid fragile thin parts, impossible overhangs and zero-clearance moving fits. STABILITY: The stand must remain stable with both devices installed and during normal touch interaction. Account for the iPad’s forward load and the iPhone’s asymmetric right-side load. Use the outriggers to create a sufficiently large support footprint. Keep the mechanism simple, robust and low-part-count. Avoid unnecessary gears, joints and mechanisms. FINAL REQUIREMENT: Generate a complete manufacturable CAD assembly with separate printable parts suitable for STEP/STL export. This must be a mechanically functional product, not a decorative concept.
