La soluzione, prima di entrare nell'evaporatore, è preriscaldata mediante scambiatore di calore, che recupera il calore proveniente dalla soluzione concentrata uscente dall'evaporatore. La soluzione concentrata viene poi inviata ad altre lavorazioni a temperatura ambiente.
