The prompt
Create a **3D mechanical CAD model of an AGV Wheel Drive Shaft with a Flange Coupling** for my engineering design assignment. **Project Details** - Project: CIE–2 Activity II – Design of a Robotic Drive Shaft and Coupling - Roll Number: RA3167 - Application: AGV Wheel Drive Shaft - Shaft Material: Stainless Steel - Coupling Type: Flange Coupling - Units: Millimetres (mm) **1. Shaft Design** - Type: Solid circular shaft - Shaft diameter: 25 mm - Bearing-to-bearing span: 500 mm - Show two support bearings, one at each end of the 500 mm bearing span. - Show a gear or pulley mounted at the centre of the shaft. - The gear/pulley load is 600 N and acts at the centre. - Provide a suitable keyway for the gear/pulley and coupling connections. - Keep the shaft straight and cylindrical. **2. Flange Coupling Design** Create a flange coupling with two matching flanges connected by bolts. Use these design dimensions: - Shaft diameter: 25 mm - Hub outside diameter: 50 mm - Hub length: 40 mm - Flange thickness: 13 mm - Flange outside diameter: 100 mm - Bolt pitch circle diameter (PCD): 75 mm - Number of bolts: 4 - Bolt size: M6 - Bolts equally spaced at 90-degree intervals. - Key size: 8 mm × 7 mm × 40 mm. **3. Assembly Arrangement** Show the components in a mechanically understandable arrangement: - Motor/gearbox connection - Flange coupling connecting the motor/gearbox to the drive shaft - Two support bearings - Gear/pulley at the centre of the bearing span - AGV wheel drive connection at the output end Make sure the shaft is supported by the bearings and the coupling is properly aligned with the shaft axis. **4. Required CAD Views** Generate: 1. Complete 3D assembly model. 2. Front view. 3. Side view. 4. Top view. 5. Sectional view of the flange coupling. 6. Separate detailed view of the shaft. 7. Separate detailed view of the flange coupling. 8. Exploded assembly view showing bolts, keys, flanges, hub and shaft. **5. Dimensioning and Labels** - Add all important dimensions in mm. - Label every component clearly. - Show shaft diameter, bearing span, hub diameter, hub length, flange thickness, flange diameter, bolt PCD and key dimensions. - Use standard engineering drawing conventions. - Add centre lines, hidden lines and section hatching where required. - Include a title block with: - Title: AGV Wheel Drive Shaft with Flange Coupling - Roll No.: RA3167 - Material: Stainless Steel - Scale: Suitable scale - Units: mm **Important Instructions** - Keep the dimensions exactly as provided above. - The 500 mm dimension is the distance between the bearing supports, not necessarily the total shaft length. - Do not silently invent missing dimensions. Mark any additional dimensions needed for the complete assembly as design assumptions. - Make the model editable and parametric so that dimensions can be changed later. - Generate a clean, professional mechanical engineering design suitable for a B.Tech engineering assignment.
