The prompt
CNC CAD Specification: 3-String Bass Tagelharpa Manufacturing Overview Process: 3-Axis CNC Router (cut from top/front face of timber stock). Components to Model: 4 distinct solid bodies (Body Shell, Soundboard, Bridge, Tailpiece). Tooling Constraint: All inside corners must have a minimum radius of 6.35 mm (1/4" bit) or 3.175 mm (1/8" bit) so a standard endmill can actually cut them. 1. Component 1: Main Body Shell (One-Piece Hardwood Blank) Machined from a single block of wood (e.g., Cherry or Maple) hollowed out from the front. Outer Silhouette: Top Section (Headstock): Flat top edge with a solid open window frame below it. Window Arms: Two vertical side pillars forming a rectangular playing opening. Lower Body: Straight sides tapering inward at the bottom corners, ending in a flat bottom base. Internal Cavity (Pockethole): Side Walls: Uniform 7 mm thickness along the left and right sides. Tail Block: Solid 18 mm thick wood section at the bottom base (needed to anchor the tailpiece). Depth: Pocket routed out from the front face, leaving a solid back plate attached to the walls. Soundboard Ledge (Rebate): A 3.0 mm deep x 4.0 mm wide step-route along the inside perimeter edge where the soundboard drops in flush. Headstock Details: 3x drilled pass-through holes on the top bar for sealed bass guitar tuner pegs. Integrated nut slot or ledge just below the top window bar to seat the nut. 2. Component 2: Soundboard / Top Plate Machined or laser-cut from a flat 3.0 mm sheet (Spruce or Cedar). Outer Shape: Identical to the outer lower body contour so it drops directly into the body shell's step-route. Soundhole Cutouts: Two mirrored stylized bow/sword cutouts (as shown in the reference photo, NOT standard round holes) placed symmetrically on either side of the bridge area. Bass Bar (Underside): A single straight wooden strip (8 mm wide x 10 mm high) glued lengthwise along the underside, positioned directly beneath where the middle/bass string foot sits. 3. Component 3: Bridge Machined from quarter-sawn Maple. Type: Floating bridge (held down by string tension alone, not glued). Base: Two wide, flat feet that rest on the soundboard. Top Arc: Curved top profile with 3 shallow string-guide notches spaced 22.7 mm apart. Profile: Low overall height with cutouts in the center to reduce mass while maintaining rigidity under heavy cello string tension. 4. Component 4: Tailpiece Machined from a small hardwood block. Shape: Tapered shield/paddled shape (wider at the top where strings attach, narrower at the bottom). Mounting Holes: 3x top holes/notches for string ends. 2x bottom pass-through holes for the paracord loop that anchors to the bottom of the body.
