The prompt

ROLE Act as a senior pressure vessel and hygienic process equipment design engineer. Do not assume any missing input. List every missing input and ask me before using it. Clearly mark any value that is a preliminary estimate. OBJECTIVE Produce the detailed design package for ONE prototype of a vertical stainless steel pressure/vacuum mixing vessel for beverages, to be built at a supplier's factory. FIXED INPUTS - Total volume: 100 L (proportions are free) - Material: 316L stainless steel, food contact - Orientation: vertical, on legs - Operation: batch, daily manual cleaning (CIP possible later), steam sterilization capability - Service: cycled between maximum achievable vacuum (design for full vacuum) and internal pressure of 10-12 bar design; gas (CO2, N2) and liquids; all beverage types - Temperature: -10 to 140 °C (steam sterilization) - Design life: 1 year - Code basis: local Egyptian requirements, using ASME VIII Div 1 or EN 13445 as the technical basis - Finish: internal Ra 0.8 µm or better, full-penetration welds ground flush - Instruments: pressure gauge, temperature sensor, safety valve (set at design pressure) - Ports: liquid inlet on top (1/2"), centered bottom drain, separate gas/vacuum port - Mixer: top-mounted motor, magnetic coupling, variable speed drive, no leakage under pressure or vacuum PRELIMINARY GEOMETRY (verify or improve) - ID 400 mm, straight shell about 660 mm, 2:1 semi-elliptical heads, overall height about 860 mm - Wall about 3-4 mm, possibly with a stiffening ring for vacuum - Drain DN40 on the bottom head COVER: DESIGN AND COMPARE TWO OPTIONS A) Small manway (about 250 mm) with a cooker-style bridge lock: two brackets on a reinforced neck, forged bridge, screw. Evaluate an inward-opening, pressure-assisted cover. Include an interlock or vent indicator to prevent opening under pressure. B) Full 400 mm hinged cover with 8-12 swing bolts and a sealing gasket. Give the closure force, bolt and bridge stress, and fatigue check, then recommend one. REQUIRED DELIVERABLES 1. Design basis summary and assumptions list 2. Wall, head and cover thickness calculations (internal pressure, full vacuum, test pressure) 3. Nozzle reinforcement and leg/support check 4. Fatigue screening for the stated cycles 5. Magnetic drive selection: torque, containment can pressure rating, shaft length and bearing arrangement, impeller type 6. Drain and port sizing, with connection types rated for 12 bar and vacuum 7. Gasket and seal material suitable for food, vacuum, 140 °C and CO2 8. Bill of materials, hydrotest procedure, and safety valve sizing 9. Dimensioned drawing description, with a supplier manufacturing and inspection checklist 10. Risks and open decisions INPUTS STILL NOT DEFINED (ask me, do not assume) - Cycles per day - Mixing purpose, viscosity range, speed and torque - Motor supply voltage and phase - Local Egyptian authority or certification route - Steam sterilization method
