GOAL: Prepare this model for 3D printing, prototype testing, and eventual injection molding. ------------------------------------ DIVIDER WALL ------------------------------------ Maintain the current wall size. Improve the wall by adding: • 4–6 evenly spaced vertical reinforcing ribs on the rear face • Uniform 3 mm wall thickness • 2° draft on all vertical molded surfaces • 5 mm rounded top corners • 1–2 mm internal fillets • Small chamfers on all slide rail entrances • Positive stop feature so the wall cannot slide too far into the connector ------------------------------------ SLIDE RAILS ------------------------------------ Keep the current rail design but improve it. • Smooth lead-in chamfers • Consistent clearance • Rounded rail edges • Easy insertion • No sharp corners ------------------------------------ CONNECTOR ------------------------------------ Keep the connector external size approximately the same. Redesign ONLY the internal geometry. Add: • Internal guide rails matching the wall rails • Internal structural ribs • Screw boss around the thumb screw • Floating compression clamp that pushes against the wall • Alignment stops • Anti-rattle geometry • Small corner fillets • Injection molding draft The connector should lock the wall securely when the thumb screw is tightened while remaining easy to assemble. ------------------------------------ THUMB SCREW ------------------------------------ Improve ergonomics. Increase grip diameter. Add knurled texture. Add a shoulder so tightening stops consistently. ------------------------------------ MANUFACTURING ------------------------------------ Optimize every part for injection molding. Use: • 2° draft • Uniform wall thickness • Fillets • Proper rib thickness • No unnecessary undercuts • Material-saving pockets where appropriate ------------------------------------ VALIDATION ------------------------------------ Check: • No part interference • Smooth panel insertion • Secure locking • Repeated assembly/disassembly • Printability • Manufacturability Do not redesign the product. Only refine the current CAD model into a professional prototype-ready design.
